Fluorescent Tube Starters, used to power up all types of fluorescent tubes. Our range above includes items from Philips Lighting and General Electric (GE Lighting). The Philips S10 starter will power up single tube (240v) operations in wattages 4w to 65w, ideal for the most common T8 fluorescent tubes - 18w (2ft), 36w (4ft), and 58w (5ft) but only in single fittings. The Philips S16 starter, or the GE ST111/800 starter are both rated as 75w to 125w so will power up the T8 70w (6ft) fluorescent tubes but only in single operation, as well as other fluorescent tubes rated up to 125w. Alternately the GE 155/801 starter will also start the standard T8 70w (6ft) fluorescent tubes but is only rated up to 100w, so not suitable for other tubes rated above 100w. One of the most popular starters is the Philips S2 Starter, rated to power a wide range of smaller fluorescent tubes (4w-22w) in various configurations. The most common use of this starter is to power 18w (2ft) T8 fluorescent tubes, often found in groups of four in square office lighting units, otherwise described as series.
